Building for Change
In 2019, The Arc Pikes Peak Region completed the Building for Change Campaign, a capital campaign to create a welcoming, fully accessible campus at 10 & 12 N Meade — where every person with an intellectual or developmental disability feels they belong.
Read the visionAn inclusive campus for the Pikes Peak region
For more than 70 years, The Arc Pikes Peak Region stood alongside families, self-advocates, and people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. At the time, the two buildings that housed our work were bursting at the seams — and candidly, they did not fully welcome the people we served.
Building for Change was our commitment to do better. We renovated 10 & 12 North Meade into a single, connected campus — a place designed for self-advocates, families, and community partners to meet, learn, and lead together.
In all 50 states, the poverty rate is higher among family members with a disability than among families without. And with a mere 40% of students with IDD graduating with a high school diploma, the workforce and community suffer from a lack of integration for individuals with IDD. Together, we did better — and we thank you for being part of this critical change.

What the campus has made possible
Expanded our footprint
Renovated 10 & 12 N. Meade into a combined campus that now holds all of our programs — advocacy, guardianship, self-advocate space, and family support — under one roof.
Became truly accessible
Incorporated universal design throughout the building — sensory-friendly spaces, fully ADA-compliant restrooms, accessible entrances, and welcoming wayfinding for people with IDD.
Welcomed more people
Created dedicated community rooms for the Include U.S.A. self-advocacy group, family training classes, and partner agencies meeting our families.
Strengthened partnerships
Created shared co-working and meeting space for aligned nonprofits — making The Arc PPR campus a true hub for the regional disability community.
