What is Include U.S.A.?
We are a group of adults ages 18+ with either an intellectual or developmental disability (IDD) who advocate for ourselves, our needs, and our rights.
We call ourselves Unique Self-Advocates (U.S.A.), and we’re all about being included in our communities in meaningful ways. Our mission is to promote awareness and acceptance of all people, to participate in our community, and to educate the public about the many contributions of people with disabilities.
What we do
Outreach
We educate the public about the gifts and challenges of living with an intellectual or developmental disability.
Socialization
Every meeting has designated “social” time to hang out, build friendships, and create community with other self-advocates.
Political activism
We organize around the issues that matter most to us and make our voices heard with local, state, and federal leaders.

Who
Individuals 18 years old or older with an intellectual or developmental disability.

2:00 PM – 5:00 PM on the first Monday of each month (unless there is a holiday).

Learning to advocate at the capitol
The Arc Pikes Peak Region proudly hosts a Legislative Learning Series for our self-advocates. A guest speaker from The Arc of Colorado walks us through how the Colorado Legislative Session works — both during the session and off-season.
What you’ll learn
- Learn the process of government organization and structure
- Learn how a bill becomes a law
- Learn how to advocate with legislators and within your community
- Increase awareness of issues that impact the Disability Community
- Determine what issues are important to YOU!
